About me
Hi! My name is Jasmine, and welcome to my travel food blog. I'm 17 and live in a 40-ft converted school bus with my parents, four brothers and four cats. We have been traveling and on the road full time since Halloween 2022.
My whole family - and myself - have a whole slew of food allergies, so it’s not always easy to find places on the road to eat, especially in a pinch, so, I have decided to compile all of the amazing places to eat that we have found across the US in this blog.
I have a particular love for anything sweet, so I especially love finding bakeries and pastry shops that I can eat at.
Now, you may be wondering about the name of this blog. I came up with this name while I was halfway through a meal at some restaurant I was at with my family, and I was like, "I should start a food blog." Except, me thinking this while mostly through a grain bowl - to the point where nobody would want to see a picture of said grain bowl online - that I remembered I almost never remember to actually take pictures of the meals and treats before I dig into them Hence, Half Finished Food was born.
Now, you will get actual pretty pictures of the food before I eat it (not just pictures of my leftovers lol), but there may be the occasional picture of something that I just couldn't wait to eat. So fair warning.
I am an extremely avid reader and bookworm, along as an aspiring writer. I love baking and making sweet treats for my family. The more complicated the recipe, the more I want to try to make it.
I love to do anything crafty, crocheting being my current on-and-off obsession. I also own a jewelry business making jewelry inspired by the books I read.
A lake by the mountains is my favorite place to be, especially if there's a hiking trail with a great view, but I also won't snub snorkeling in a crystal-clear spring in Florida (I know, it sounds bougie). I have a Taylor Swift obsession that gets a little out of control sometimes, and that my family gets annoyed with a fair amount of the time. I love love love going to concerts, even though I've only been to two (Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish), but that'll hopefully change in the near future. I also love horse riding, but that is one hobby that is difficult to pursue on the road.
I can't wait to share my travels of eating my way across the US, and (hopefully) eventually across the world.
I hope you stick along for the ride and enjoy reading!
Love.
Jasmine <3
