Ok, so we have eaten at this chain a fair number of times but I swear this time I had the best bowl I’ve ever had there.
For reference, Fresh Kitchen is a make-your-own-bowl style restaurant where everything is gluten free and mostly made in-house with local, quality ingredients.
We originally found Fresh Kitchen in January 2023, after we had went to Universal for my 15 birthday and were looking for somewhere to eat that night. It’s always been one of restaurant’s décor-wise, with all of it’s pink paint and wall murals. If you’re a pink or soft girly then this is definitely your vibe.
This time that we went I got the Six Bowl (which is two bases, two proteins and two veggies) with kale Caesar salad and coconut ginger rice with double grilled barbeque chicken – because their bbq chicken is literally THE BEST bbq chicken I’ve EVER had, and continues to be – and maple sweet potatoes and sesame green beans as my veggies, with roasted almonds on top. I did also get the creamy white ginger sauce, which is soooo good, but I didn’t even need it this time; the bowl was so flavorful on it’s own. I would rate the whole bowl together about a 7.8/10. Mostly because the Caeser salad and the coconut rice didn’t go the best together; I would probably just get the rice in the future. Otherwise it was essentially perfect, except the sweet potatoes, which were also a little hard, but they still tasted delicious.
For a drink, I got the Strawberry Lemon Fresca. It was alright, probably would rate it a 6/10. It had an almost smoothie-like consistency to it, but it was good, just not the best.
And of course, I had to bring my current read with me (Beach Read by Emily Henry), because you should always have a book on hand, although I suspect that I looked a little odd clutching it while I was ordering my food. Except by the time you all read this I will have moved on to my next book, so...
Also, this is something I've never commented on this before in a post specifically about food, but this place's bathroom was INSANE. It was all black (even the sink and toilet), and they had the restaurant name on the back wall painted in a graffiti-like in different pink colors.
I would definitely check this restaurant if you’re in the Central Florida area (they are a chain, so you can find them in quite a few locations).
