I am so excited to finally be writing a post about this restaurant in particular. My parents went here at least twice before they brought us, and every time they came back they would be raving about how good the food was, and I can now say from personal experience that this is legitimately some of the best food I have EVER had in my entire life.
I know, you’re probably thinking, “there’s no way it could be THAT GOOD.” And that's what I thought too, but it’s true. Now, I should also probably preface this by saying that this is a higher end restaurant, so we did dress up to go here but there were also people in street clothes there too, so it’s whatever floats your boat.
Alright, let’s get into it. The restaurant is called Season 52 and it is located in Jacksonville, Florida (and look at that, you now have a reason to go to Florida! You’re welcome😁). The aesthetic was very opulent and extravagant and made me feel very fancy. I loved the dark wood paneling with the low lighting and all the little shiny touches.
Their allergen menu is extremely cohesive; there were different sections depending on what your food allergies/restrictions/dietary choices were. So there was a Gluten Free section, a Vegan section, Dairy Free, and a few others covering the common food allergies/restrictions.
Now onto the food. I got a grapefruit groove drink to start, and it was phenomenal. Plus, drinking the drinks they make with the fake alcohol for us underaged people always makes me feel like an adult, which still happens rarely enough that I still enjoy it. I’ll get back to you in a few years with an update on that subject though lol.
For appetizers (I know it made me feel fancy too) we got the pesto and chicken flatbread, Philly cheesesteak flatbread, artichoke flatbread, truffle risotto and loaded potato skillet for appetizers, and while they were all delicious, I have some notes.

For this section, the loaded potato skillet and pesto chicken flatbread tied for my favorite. Now, a fun fact about me is that you can literally win my heart with potatoes. Like, french fries (the best, obviously), cheesy mashed potatoes, potato skins, etc, you just can’t go wrong. (Can you tell I’m Irish?😅) So obviously the potato skillet was in my top few. It was little whole crispy cooked potatoes covered in cheese sauce and bacon. I’m salivating just thinking about it. I also love a good pesto pizza, and this flatbread was damn delicious. The risotto was good, but a little too salty and rich for me. My mom is something of a risotto connoisseur though, and she says that this is her favorite risotto she’s ever had, so take what you will from that. The other flatbreads were also pretty good, but I’m not a super huge artichoke or steak fan so they didn’t make it to the top faves.

Now let’s get into the entrees: I got the wood-grilled dry-rubbed pork chop. It had a honey glaze (I’m pretty sure) and came with a bed of pickled cabbage, which I do admit I was suspicious of at first, but when I say this is the best meat I have EVER put in my mouth, I am not kidding you (That's what she said😉 Iykyk) It was sooooo tender and perfectly flavored and the cabbage went with it amazingly and it was the perfect amount of sweet and savory… God, I miss that meal. But long story short, it was absolutely amazing and delicious.
Now for dessert: We all got the key-lime pie dessert (I forget what exactly it was called); usually I’m not a key-lime pie person, but I think I will have to make an exception for this one in particular. It was layered key-lime cream with graham cracker crumbs in between, and a toasted marshmallow swirl on top. I don’t know what exactly the cream that was in it was, but it. Was. Heavenly. The sweetness was perfect, the creaminess was DIVINE, and the key-lime flavor was not overwhelming at all. I don’t know what secret ingredient they put in this food, but I will definitely be coming back.
Now that I have made you all extremely hungry, I’m gonna peace out. Thank you all so much for reading and it would mean the world to me if you followed along on social media (@halffinishedfood_blog).
Hope to see you next time!
XO,
Jasmine <3
